Could have done without the 4th story:
The first few stories in are okay. I'd give the story by P. Briggs 3 stars and recommend reading it before reading Cry Wolf - not that I am suggesting you should. The story by E. Wilks also gets a 3, and the story by K. Chance a 2.5. However, the story by Sunny was TERRIBLE. I am not sure why the other authors agreed to include this story. I am still not sure what the plot was and could see this story included in an "adult" magazine for sci-fi/fantasy fans rather than in a compilation of short... more info
Not worth buying:
This book is an advertisement, the stories don't stand alone, and they aren't even particularly good examples of their authors works. I bought this after being told in an Amazon.com review for "Cry Wolf," that you HAD to read "Alpha and Omega" in this novel to enjoy "Cry Wolf." After saying that, two of those stories could really 'almost' stand alone in that they meet and fall in love with a mate. THe full novels (and I can only speak for Briggs story as... more info
On the Prowl:
Short Story #1: Alpha and Omega by Patricia Briggs
I started this during my lunch hour and could not put it down! There is something about the story of Charles and Anna that I really enjoyed and I picked it up again as soon as I was off work and finished it really very quickly and wanted more. I was happy to see that she has followed up with a book titled "Cry Wolf." I'll be checking that out of the library soon. Anna has been living in Chicago as a werewolf for the past three years when she was... more info
