Many of these pieces are prohibitively expensive, yet most are fabricated using the most basic of welding and metal forming techniques and inexpensive materials. Junior colleges, community education programs, and local art councils regularly offer welding courses for the home hobbyist or artist. Until now, no book has covered welding basics and provided detailed how-to projects with easy-to-follow photographs and steps.

How to weld:
The book is good for starters. It is a bit vague on the basics but informative. A good starter book.
Above average instructional manual.:
I found this book to have strong basic/beginner information as advertised. Some foggy areas are clearer to me now. The section on welding projects could have been left out and additional instructional materials provided.
Good book for developing a working vocabulary.:
The book provides a basic footing in welding. I simply used the book to develop a working vocabulary before I began learning how to weld.
