101 Dog Tricks is the largest trick book on the market and the only one presenting full-color photos of each trick and its training steps? The step-by-step approach, difficulty rating, and prerequisites, allow readers to start training immediately. Tips and trouble-shooting boxes cover common problems, while "build-on" ideas suggest more complicated tricks which build on each new skill. No special tools (such as clickers) or knowledge of specific training methods are required. Trick training is a great way to bond with your dog and help him integrate into your family. It keeps him mentally and physically challenged and helps to establish paths of communication between you. Many tricks build skills needed for common dog sports, dog dancing, and dog therapy work. It's every dog lover's privilege that Kyra and Chalcy took time from their performing schedule to share their secrets in 101 Dog Tricks.

Pretty physical, great for younger owners:
While I was looking to "baffle" my miniature schnauzer, who is in constant need of a puzzle or challenging mental game, this book is more about physical tricks (jumping over the owner, etc.). Still fun, useful and effective, and one that I'd recommend, especially if you have some room to accommodate the physical nature of the training.
Best training book.:
This book was great in teaching our Boston new tricks. This was my first dog, so how to teach new tricks was a challenge for me. Not knowing what to teach, or how to teach the trick. It has all levels of tricks from basic "Sit/Stay" to more advanced "Get me a Beer" (from the fridge). We're not at the fridge stage yet. But it's a good fun book that allow us to spend more bonding time with our dog.
101 Dog Tricks:
It is a great read and has very valuable information. It will be a resource for quite awhile for my 5 month old pup.

The first portion of the book explains some of the important basic training needed for a successful dog. And that's what my adopting... more info
