Great for home handymen: I have a hammer drill that I have used for several years with disappointing results. After researching several rotary hammers, I selected the DeWalt based on rated power, bit capacity, D style handle, overall length and cost (I must admit I also like the bright yellow color). I used the chisel mode to remove tile from two bathroom shower/tubs and stubborn thinset from floor tile. The tool worked great. I can now also sink holes into aged concrete with ease. I like it; it is a good tool for jobs involving... Worst tool I ever owned: I am a retired bricklayer. I do many odd jobs now to keep me busy. I bought this toolbecause I thought it would be a help in my line of work. It performed miserably. I used it to mix some grout for a tile floor. On the second pail of grout, the drill burned out. Don't buy this item. You will be totally disappointed. Go with the bosch SDS hammer. It is a much better item. Great For what I need: Being a serious home improver and a former carpenter, this is a great tool for my periodic use. Boring up to 1" holes in concrete for anchors, wire access etc is made easy with this tool. Not too useful for hammering, unless you're working on cinderblock or other softer masonry, but fine for cleaning up rough concrete surfaces. Good selection of SDS bits... and reasonably priced.
