This simple unit provides safe, convenient, and attractive countertop storage for three Cuisinart blades and three cutting disks. It's designed to be used as stand-alone storage or side by side with Cuisinart's supplemental disk holder. The effective tamper-resistant locking device must be pulled out and twisted 90 degrees to access the cutting tools, and it automatically relocks when the lid is closed. Blades cannot be accessed via the open bottom, and disks can only be removed through the locking top. Moreover, when all three storage slots are occupied, the cutting edges of each disk are completely protected. Each blade holder is shaped to snugly fit its designated blade. High-impact plastic and external surfaces are smooth and curved to facilitate cleaning. --Toni Reineke

Nice to have.:
I should have given this one more star, but it won't let me change it...I couldn't believe that my husband got me this along with my processor, because of the price. I thought I could throw stuff in a drawer and save the [...]. That seems really steep, the only thing is, there is no better way to store these items. I can't believe how nice it is to have all the pieces in one place and not have to search for them and risk cutting yourself. It really is great for being organized and safe. Useful but flawed:
I like the idea of this holder and it does an adequate job but it has a few flaws that should be corrected in future models of this unit. The 1st issue is that this should hold ALL your blades and disks in 1 holder which this is incapable of doing due to severely limited disk slots, only 1 additional disk slot over what shipped with my processor and I already have 3 more disks than this unit can accommodate. Locked Itself- Permanently!:
A blade holder is a great idea. I like the idea that it keeps the blades safe. Unfortunately, my disc holder locked itself permanently and I had to take the unit apart to get to my blades and discs. Cuisinart needs to upgrade the quality of the locking mechanism.

Cuisinart Blade and Disc HolderGreat addition and nice storage unit. Case can be difficult to open with switch; however, that is the design. Really beats digging in drawers for blades; also helps prevent cuts and keeps blades cleaner.We will purchase more as we acquire more blades; Very impressed with Cuisinart products.
