So small, so light, but so powerful---what a delight to use. It's just perfect for the professional upholsterer and the home do-it-yourselfer, too. Because it's so compact, it fits nicely into tight spaces, and its super light weight means no fatigue, even in the awkward positions upholsters can find themselves. We didn't experience any misfires or jams, but if they happen, just release the magazine and the driver blade guide retracts. We like the convenience of the end-load magazine, and because the staples are so thin, you get an impressive 185 loaded in the magazine, which of course means fewer stops to reload. And just like Porter-Cable's more ambitious nailers, this one's got a directional port to keep the exhaust off you and your workpiece. While it's in name an upholstery stapler, we think you'll find a lot more uses for this little worker.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Works well when it works well....:
As another reviewer mentioned, there are a lot of misfires. Doesn't compare favorably with my set of Bostitch nailers. I think this machine just needs constant oiling and cleaning, but it's a pain and the instructions are insufficient. I first used this to reupholster an antique settee/rocker set and it worked very well with a few misfires (5-10%). Now I'm using it to make a set of 5 window cornices and the misfires have been getting out of control. Honestly not sure if I can recommend this, but I was very... more info
Made it happen:
The great discount I got by applying for the card enabled my to repair my office chair AND own a tool for LESS than paying an upolsterer to do it... and having to throw my chair in our landfill. The stapler now is a useful tool in my collection and I know I'll use it in many applications for a long time.
Porter-Cable Upholstery Stapler:
Purchased this item to do a first-timer job on a convertible top replacement. The stapler has performed flawlessly at this point it time, nearly completed on the top installation. Also did some testing with it before actually using it and it was very easy to figure out and use. This stapler uses standard 3/8" wide crown staples, for anyone wondering. In my opinion it was reasonably priced in comparison to other similar items, and is a well known name brand.
Upholstery Stapler:
Most likely a very nice stapler, however, I was new at this and I did not realize it was powered by air.
