Love it!: I was tired of replacing cheaply made can openers every few months. I hate having a big electric opener on the counter--they are ugly and take up too much space. This easy attachment to my beautiful mixer works like a charm every time. It tucks away in a drawer when I'm not using it. It shipped really fast. Piece of crap!: I bought this thinking it would be the best thing ever, but what I have is an opener that I do not use. It does not grip well, so that it skips around the can, missing portions of the rim to open. Therefore, you will need to go around 3-4 times to get it off, if it will even open it. I now just use the hand opener that my grandmother left to me....boy they could build good stuff 30 years ago! Look mom ~ no hands!: Ok, I just recently received and used this new widget, so it may be too early to tell but my initial quality report is quite promising. The opener is well made and locks in place like other attachment on my Kitchen-Aid Pro 600 stand mixer. The recommended speed for cans is number two and it turns, opens and peels off without any barbs. Those who reported that barbs are present is likely a random quality or tolerance issue.
