Editorial Review:
Now there's no need to exclude any of your feathered friends at your feeder. With this Expeditions Select-A-Seed feeder, you can vary the feed slot to accommodate different seed mixes and the different birds attracted to them. Have cardinals over one week, finches the next, and sparrows the week after that. The 1-1/2-pound-capacity copper-topped acrylic bird feeder lets you switch between a large slot or a tiny one, accommodating sunflower seeds, mixed, and thistle, simply by rotating the copper band. The feeder is remarkably easy to fill (just lift the copper top off), and the quick-release bottom plug simplifies cleaning. The feeder comes in a classy box (complete with full-color photo ribbon) and is fully assembled, making this a fantastic gift for bird lovers. And don't forget the lifetime warranty: "Sorry squirrels, OffShoots warranties this Expeditions feeder for the lifetime of the product. Take your nasty little rodent teeth elsewhere." --Ariel Meadow Stallings

The bird feeder arrived without delay, but it was missing the copper top. That is a bit ironic, since that is billed as the main feature
Read the Product Description:
Looking at the picture of this item, I envisioned a heavy duty feeder like the ones my grandparents used to have; and the price was great... The reality is quite different, but, as I see in the product description, it does say "copper & acrylic." The point is, this product is primarily made of plastics. Yes, it does have a copper top, and a strip of copper around the bottom, but the rest is fairly light plastic. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not what I was picturing. I will certainly use... more info Bird's favorite:
I'm no bird feeder expert but I hung a bunch of different brand feeders from a tree in my front yard. They are all filled with the same finch seed - they all look similiar in style. (tube style). This feeder is the most popular among the birds and they don't use the other feeders till this one is empty. It is easy to fill. Only downside - I do have it refill frequently - and yes, seeds drop to the ground.
