No boiling necessary. 8 oz. package makes up to 48 oz. of nectar. Dissolves instantly in cold water. No. 443 24: Red No. 446 24: Clear
The only problem with having a hummingbird feeder is, once those hummers know it's there, they get really hungry! Keep them satiated with this nectar. Dissolving instantly in water, the 8 ounces of powder make 48 ounces of nectar in the classic red color. Keep those hungry hummers well fed--because no one likes to see an angry hummingbird. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

Let the birds sing:
Product received as excepted. In an extremely fast manner; and in prefect condition. All this and still got it far cheaper than at local stores without having to leave my house.
don't buy make your own:
For Hummingbirds: boil, on stove or microwave, 4 C water, 1 cup sugar.
Sugar water is all your hummers need. Do not waste your money on this product.
No dyes! No instant nectars!:
As a field biologist involved in hummingbird studies in the SW, I can say that red--or any other color--dye is nonsense! NOT needed, quite likely harmful. Also, I question the instant nectar--instructions say it doesn't require boiling. Is there a preservative in it that retards yeast and bacterial growth? If so it would likely be extremely harmful to the gut of the hummers: it could harm their natural internal flora.
RED DYE WILL HARM HUMMINGBIRDS - DO NOT USE IT:
THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT STATE WHAT THEY USE FOR THE RED COLORING IN
THEIR NECTAR. IT IS A WELL KNOWN FACT THAT RED DYE #40 HAS PROVED
HARMFUL TO HUMMINGBIRDS CAUSING CANCER AND IS NOT NECESSARY. NATURAL NECTAR IN THE WILD IS CLEAR WITHOUT COLOR. USING A COLORFUL
FEEDER WILL ATTRACT THE HUMMERS AND NOT HARM THEM.
