Editorial Review:

If you're still using a hand-me-down iron from your Aunt Irene, you won't believe what a new tool like the T-Fal 1662 Ultraglide iron can do. Light and sturdy, the multifeature iron is easy to hold, handle, and lift. The soleplate features 80 holes for heavy-duty steaming power, plus it's smooth and strong for snag-free ironing. No accidents with this appliance either---the iron automatically shuts off in 30 seconds if it tips or lies flat or in 8 minutes if it's left on its heel base. With the T-Fal 1662, you set the heat level by sliding a cursor to the appropriate fabric. You also have your choice of steam amounts on the five-level valve. Two thumb-operated buttons let you deliver bursts of steam or a water mist as you go. The iron's heel base is fat and sturdy with a smart track for the cord. A translucent reservoir lets you see water levels at a glance and the removable anticlogging valve means that cleaning the iron takes just a couple of steps. --Emily Bedard

Finally some info!:

I just received my T-Fall 1662 Turbo Iron from Amazon today and bought it without any specs listed for this Iron. I gave it 3 stars because I am not sure how long it will last (my sunbeam lasted a year before it conked out). The biggest difference about this Iron that I am some what diappointed with is that it does not have a vertical steam option. The following info is what I pulled off the T-Fall site. It appears to be a older model. All and All it appears to be a decent deal for $21 . Hope this helps...... more info

More of a question tha n a review:

my wife is wondering what is the reason that this item in particular is so dramatically reduced compared to other T-Fal ultraglide irons, although this model seems in the picture to be as sophisticated. Is there any reason that we should know of so that we opt for another T-Fal model?

thanks
