Creating a new branch in the Hoover family tree while still adhering to the company's reputation for innovation and quality, Hoover's Floor Mate is the ideal machine for anyone who has hard floors (including hard-wood floors, linoleum, tile, and others). A complete floor cleaner--and almost the definition of multifunctional--the Floor Mate vacuums, washes, and dries a floor. It has both wet and dry pickup functionality (you make the choice via a foot-controlled pushbutton), meaning that it combines a broom and a mop, getting rid of the need for dustpans and mop buckets. There are two removable containers on the front of the machine, one that serves as a receptacle for dirt and dust and another that can be filled with floor cleaner. The Floor Mate stands 43-3/4 inches tall, is 11-1/2 inches deep, and has a 20-foot cord, which conveniently wraps on the back. --A.J. Rathbun

Great, lasting machine!!:
I have had this floor cleaner for over a year now. I have a non-toxic cleaning business and I have been using my floor-mate daily (up to 4 hrs/week!) for as long as I have owned it. great idea but bearings are cheap:
i have had 3 of these and each time the bearings inside went and it always happened with in 2 years.i am looking for one that can last longer now.also the other thing is the brushes dont reach the grout if your grout is a little deep.it will only get the top of the tile.
Initially acceptable, but eventually worthless:
I bought this machine several years for use on my vinyl floors. It intially worked reasonably well for cleaning, although the dry vacuum function was never very good. As time went on, it became less and less effective. I don't want to POLISH the dirt, I want to remove it! The scrubbing brushes just aren't strong enough to clean up anything oher than very light or loose dirt. Forget stains or dried on messes. It can't touch them. I eventually tossed it in disgust. It's easier than using a mop, but it doesn't... more info
Average machine:
I think that this is a nice machine. It is how ever hard to reach corners.
It takes alittle patients.
