Sewing light; carrying handle; onboard accessory package and instructions included
Editorial Review:
Capable of 25 stitch functions and loaded with an array of options, this Singer machine is simple to operate and makes it possible for even novices to enjoy creative sewing. Some of the convenience features include a top drop-in bobbin that's easy to put in, easy to take out, and easy to see; a simple threading system with a dial for precisely adjusting needle-thread tension; a variable-speed, electronically controlled foot pedal; touch-and-wind hand wheel declutching; push-button reverse sewing for neat seam-ends; a three-needle position selector for attaching zippers and top stitching; and a built-in four-step buttonholer for easy buttonhole sewing.
The machine is quiet and ruggedly built, includes a sewing light and a built-in carrying handle, provides horizontal thread delivery for better stitches, and has a slide-off extension table for free-arm sewing. Real excitement comes from the 25 stitch functions provided, including embroider, applique, satin, and five zigzag variations. A complete accessory package (various presser feet, friction-free spool holders, transparent bobbins, and needles for sewing different fabrics) is included, and it stores onboard the machine, which weighs 20 pounds and measures 15 inches wide, 11-1/2 inches high, and 7 inches deep. Invaluable is Singer's illustrated, step-by-step instruction booklet covering everything from the basics to zipper sewing to pattern stitching to free-arm sewing to highly detailed buttonhole sewing--and much, much more. --Fred Brack
Editor's note: This is a reconditioned sewing machine. Reconditioned generally means that the sewing machine has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the machine back to like-new condition. Some products may contain cosmetic blemishes.

If you are desperate to sew:
I am in a hotel and just had to have a sewing fix. Ordered this one for less than $150, it was the only one with an adjustable pressure foot-for thick lofty fabric. It is a POS BUT...if you are an experienced sewer in need of a machine on the cheap you can deal with it's quirks i.e pulling the thread out long enough to not come unthreaded each time you stop and start. It sews a decent stitch, lightweight and comes with standard accs. I would not recommned for a novice because it is a PITA to thread properly... more info
Singer machine:
Bought this for my wifes birthday. She loves it! You can't go wrong with a Singer. The name has such a strong brand recognition in the industry. I wouldn't have settled for anything less. Price was great. Got it sooner than what the shipping date was expected.
