Editorial Review:
This grill is a good size for searing a steak, or grilling a couple of chicken breasts, or perhaps a couple of red peppers. You'll get desirable grill marks and if you need to keep the items you've just cooked warm, pop this piece right into the oven. This edition of Le Creuset's grill pan is skinny, about 1-1/2 inches tall, which makes it great for quesadillas and veggies in addition to steaks and fish. With a grill pattern of raised ribs in the bottom, this 10-1/4-inch round pan grill sears tasty grill marks into burgers and other foods that benefit from stovetop grilling and the caramelized flavor grill marks impart. The ribs also elevate food so that fat collects between them, allowing for low-calorie cooking. Because cast iron is unexcelled at retaining heat and distributing it evenly--no hot spots--food will cook uniformly in the pan. The design of the handles--one on each side with space for hands to wrap around--makes the pan easy to lift. Enameled on the outside with a bright, smooth surface and inside with a black satin-texture finish that doesn't need seasoning, this durable grill goes on any stovetop, in the oven, or under a broiler. It's also stylish enough to bring to the table. Though it's dishwasher-safe, hand washing preserves the patina that builds up with use and preserves the skillet's stick resistance. Like all Le Creuset cast-iron cookware, the pan is made in France using a one-of-a-kind mold that ensures each piece's uniqueness and carries a lifetime warranty against defects.

Here is a tip I picked up from an "Indoor Grilling" book that works very well with this grill, especially with delicate fish: lay a piece of parchment paper on the grill before adding the food. The pan still cooks well, and you get the sear marks, but the fish holds together and does not stick to the pan.
Great indoor grill:
This little grill is great for those who don't have access to an outdoor grill. My wife and I received one as a gift, and it cooks very well. We've tried eletric grills before but they did poor jobs with both cooking time and cooking evenly. This grill pan, on the other hand, cooks quicker (15 minutes for a 12 oz steak cooked medium) and evenly. I would recommend using something to cover the food while cooking to help with heating (to simulate the effect of a lid of an outdoor grill). We have used a... more info Grilling:
I was disappointed in the grill.........the meat sticks to the grill even though it has teflon. I am unable to clean this grill properly getting all residue off. a great little addition to my kitchen:
I bought this for quick grilling. For cast iron, the weight is fairly light and it is very managable in the kitchen. It was a bit sticky on the first use, but it has improved tremendously with use. I don't find it necessary to use the highest flame on my stove to get this hot. I am using closer to a medium flame, so I do wait a couple of minutes or so for the pan to come to temperature. I have no problem with getting the grill marks on the food. I used to own an electric Jenn Aire stove, and the grill on it... more info
