Editorial Review:
This grill is a good size for searing a steak, or grilling a couple of chicken breasts, or perhaps a couple of red peppers. You'll get desirable grill marks and if you need to keep the items you've just cooked warm, pop this piece right into the oven. This edition of Le Creuset's grill pan is skinny, about 1-1/2 inches tall, which makes it great for quesadillas and veggies in addition to steaks and fish. With a grill pattern of raised ribs in the bottom, this 10-1/4-inch round pan grill sears tasty grill marks into burgers and other foods that benefit from stovetop grilling and the caramelized flavor grill marks impart. The ribs also elevate food so that fat collects between them, allowing for low-calorie cooking. Because cast iron is unexcelled at retaining heat and distributing it evenly--no hot spots--food will cook uniformly in the pan. The design of the handles--one on each side with space for hands to wrap around--makes the pan easy to lift. Enameled on the outside with a bright, smooth surface and inside with a black satin-texture finish that doesn't need seasoning, this durable grill goes on any stovetop, in the oven, or under a broiler. It's also stylish enough to bring to the table. Though it's dishwasher-safe, hand washing preserves the patina that builds up with use and preserves the skillet's stick resistance. Like all Le Creuset cast-iron cookware, the pan is made in France using a one-of-a-kind mold that ensures each piece's uniqueness and carries a lifetime warranty against defects.
Customer Reviews: Avg. Customer Rating: 4.5 / 5.0 Easy to clean:
This grill gets a lot of use in my house. It is perfect for cooking up a couple of burgers or chicken breasts at times when you don't feel like firing up a grill outside. This grill replaced a heavy anodized aluminum grill pan... after the first time using the Le Creuset cast iron grill I gave the old one away. It makes nice black stripes on the food and is actually easy to clean -- with the right tool and technique. The cooking surface is actually black enamel, not cast iron. This allows for simple... more info
Fell in love with the "Blue" round skinny style:
Received it two days ago. Now I'm in love with the performance of this darling little grill. So easy to use. Sprayed it with Crisco olive oil. Easily cooked five juicy burgers today. Wonderful!! All you need for easy cleaning: Drain any grease, put a small amount of warm water on it while still warm. Leave it while you eat. I used the neat little George Foreman grill sponge with my dish detergent. Clean up was a breeze! Cleaning Not So Fun:
Everything most people have said is correct. It is a great grill and it does a good job however cleaning it is a different story. You need to soak it after you cook and trying to clean as much off as possible and then leave it alone. let it dry and the next day you'll be able to scrape almost everything off. Le Creuset #1:
This is so easy to use and hassle-free. I spray it with Pam prior to use and stick it in the oven -- high heat doesn't bother this baby. Does an excellent job with scallops, chicken, fresh vegetables. It is skinny and not real heavy and cleans up well -- mine still looks brand-new. If I could afford to, I'd buy one for all my friends and co-workers.
