Editorial Review:
This new style dust collector will change the woodworking dust collection marketplace. Most woodworkers are looking for the most efficient dust collection system they can find, and the new JET canister filter dust collector, which filters down to 2 microns, delivers the superior dust collection today's woodworkers demand. The disposable clear plastic dust collection bag allows the user to remove debris directly to a trash can without creating a cloud of dust. The canister filter is cleaned by simply turning a handle on top of the unit that will shake the dust away from the filter material and into the collector bag.
With this line of canister-filter dust collectors, JET has raised the bar on how clean shop air can be. To begin with, the new filter design captures particles as small as 2 microns, keeping even infinitesimally small particles out of the air you breathe. The best dust collectors in this price range in the past have never done better than 5-micron filtering--and that was after adding additional filters to existing systems. The V-weave design of the canister filter also yields greater capacity than the more common bag filter. Added filtering area allows for better airflow, so a clear plastic collection bag can be used without reducing the machine's 1,100 cfm. As a result, when the bag is full, you can tie it off and dump it rather than having to empty and reuse a dusty old cloth bag. Another feature we really appreciate is the filter cleaning mechanism. Turning a handle on the top of the filter rotates a cleaning flapper inside the filter, shaking loose dust and debris into the collection bag. Removing the filter and shaking it out or beating it is not required for regular cleaning. This model has a 1-1/2-horsepower motor, comes on a stand with casters, and has connections for up to two 4-inch dust collection hoses. It's a great choice for keeping dust under control in a small shop. --Brian Trinen

Very happy with the quality:
I've bought a fair amount of Jet equipment recently, all of it for the same reason - value. Having bought Jet equipment years ago as well as more recently, I was fully-prepared to spend more on better equipment, but actually found that Jet's prices have dropped and quality has improved! My new Jet Deluxe tablesaw, for example, is better-designed, better-built and finished, and was cheaper than the Jet saw I bought nearly 20 years ago! When shopping for dust collectors, Jet didn't even initially occur... more info
Dust collector:
This dust collector appears to be a very useful part of my home work shop.
It is quite noisy but sucks well. The installation of the bottom plastic collection bag is quite a struggle.
Jet should look at a redesign to simplify that part. Otherwise the collector is very good
A Good Dust Collecting System:
A don't know why I waited so long to put a dust collection system into my garage shop, but I am glad I did, and the Jet DC1100CK is a perfect system for me. I can't beleive how quiet it is when running, and the suction power that it generates. It pulls some of my smaller scroll saw pieces 6 inches off the work bench.
The setup was easy, took about 1 hour. Directions and diagrams were very helpful. I'm not one to usually read the directions, thus the diagrams were really the most helpful. It was put... more info
Jet Dust Collector: Good machine, Poor packaging:
I ordered the Jet DC-1100CK from Amazon on 10/18/06. I bought it because my old 1 HP Delta bag type dust collector only filtered down to 30 microns, and allowed a film of fine dust to settle throughout my basement shop. It was shipped from Jet and delivered on 11/14/06 in 2 large boxes, both in good condition. The next day when I opened the boxes to assemble it, I discovered that the impeller housing was crushed. It was apparent that this was because the very heavy motor was attached to, and resting... more info
