Editorial Review:

Professional pressing results, conveniently at your home. The Simplicity Quik Press provides up to 100 pounds of pressure, a pressing surface seven times larger than a regular iron and a variable temperature control that is ideal for any fabric. It is portable and easily stored in any room (although you'll use it so much that you'll be tempted to leave it out) and it has an on/off switch and an automatic shut-off for safety. Please see Other Info tab for a complete list of features. . A restocking fee will be deducted if this item is returned.

For home tailoring, quilting, and detailed sewing, the Quik Press is a dream. While a handheld iron has its place, the large 9-by-22-inch padded surface of this tabletop unit presses more fabric at once, making it ideal for professionally setting pleats, gathers, and pant leg creases, as well as fusing interfacing. The tapered end neatly shapes contoured sleeves and darts, while the hole-free nonstick metal shoe plate makes appliqués and heat transfers a crafter's delight. A temperature dial and pressure selector--either 50 or 100 pounds--lets the press smooth everything from delicate nylon to wrinkle-prone linen. An automatic shutoff adds safety, and the nonstick cotton cover conveniently removes for washing. The long handle keeps hands away from hot surfaces and locks shut when finished, making the press easy to carry to sewing circles. Since the press uses dry heat, a spray bottle is included for misting fabrics when desired. The press measures 23 by 20 by 8-1/2 inches, and is covered by a one-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

works great if it works:

lots of beeping but only occasional heat. Warrenty does not include labor, diagnosis, or shipping either way for repairs

Beep and no heat:

Followed instructions and press just keeps beeping and will not heat up. Maybe I got a defective one, will try again.

Doesn't save time:

The amount of time it takes to prefectly line up your shirt or pants adds up to the time you could have just use an old fashioned iron and got a better press ... it is good if you don't like to or don't know how to iron.

Great product!:

I really like the Quik Press for my sewing room. I do a lot of strip piecing for my quilting projects and this saves me a ton of time! Especially when I am working on the Cotton Theory quilting and fusing strips of fabric together! Oh wow! What a time saver! And it there is very little stretching of the fabric when using the press versus the iron.
The only thing I kind of wish it had was steam but I didn't notice that when I purchased it. It does come with a spray bottle and actually that works just... more info
