There are lots of recip saws on the market for you to choose from, but we particularly like this one. Sure, its 9 amp motor runs the blade at up to 2,600 strokes per minute with electronic variable speed. But when it's time to replace the blade, only Porter-Cable offers the Quik-Change blade clamp that truly lets you change out a spent blade in literally seconds. You can even install the blade upside down if that helps you get the job done more easily. Need just a little more reach? Adjust the front shoe to put more of the blade's teeth to work for you. Now that's smart design. The handle has a great ergonomic grip that feels good in your hand, too. The case is rugged and will keep this beauty clean and dry when it's not in use. We can't imagine anyone who does any building, remodeling, electrical work, plumbing or HVAC work who can get along without this. My Porter-Cable 9-amp Tiger Saw has a few miles on it now and has seen some hard times, but it's proven itself time and time again. Most recently, I pulled it off the shelf and slapped a heavy-duty metal-cutting blade into its grip and used it to cut up some old chain-link fence posts. At first, I'd been using an old hacksaw because I wanted to see how hard the old fence posts really were (and I was too lazy to dig out the terror saw, the extension cords, blades, etc). I've had this for about a year. I've used it to demolish a few walls, a shed, knock out door casings and rip out conduit and duct work. Anytime there is wood nailed together that needs to be removed, this is my first choice of weapon. I've never found the 9 amp to be lacking for power. Blade changes are easy. Before I bought this, I wasn't sure how much I would actually use it. Now, a year later, I'm really glad I bought it because it has become my number one problem solver.
