This set of four replacement wires are for use with Chantal's 10-1/2-inch wire cheese slicer. These wires are handy to keep in storage for backup. When the previous wire becomes dull, you can string a new one through the cheese slicer and tighten it until taut to continue to produce smooth, even slices of soft to medium-soft cheeses. The thin wire keeps soft cheeses from sticking as they would on a thicker knife. Like the kitchen tool they are intended for, these wires are dishwasher-safe. --Cristina Vaamonde
