Editorial Review:

Compact Efficiency Singer's 132Q is a 19 stitch machine with a 5-step buttonhole. It has an expanded work surface which will give you greater control while sewing larger items (such as quilts, curtains, full skirts). The 132Q also includes a walking foot (useful for thick or tricky fabrics, stripes and plaids) and a 1/4'' foot which is used a lot in quilting. This machine also features adjustable stitch length, free arm, and is so easy to store and carry around due to its small size. The accessory kit includes an instruction manual (English, Spanish), zig zag foot, buttonhole foot, zipper foot, walking foot, blind stitch foot, special purpose foot, 1/4'' foot, dust cover, needles, bobbins, spool pins and felts, lint brush, seam ripper, and screwdrivers.

132Q leaves a LOT to be desired in quality:

I have owned a couple of sewing machines now, and my mother always had Singer machines. I was pleased when I found this one for a very reasonable price, as I wanted to learn to quilt (the "Q" is for quilting on this model). I used it a grand total of four times before it broke. Now, it does a vrey nice job, WHEN it works! I was making pillows when it broke - I had stitched up 2 items, and was on my third. I'd finished the other seams, and was going back over the last seam when it caught and stopped running.... more info

Good value for the money:

I bought this machine for my mother. It's easy to use and we had no problems with it at all. For those who are new to sewing, the instruction booklet is fairly easy to follow.

I wanted to like it - I really did!:

I purchased this item on sale and was so excited. The first one I received had a defective bobbin case and upper thread tension. Sent it back for a replacement. The replacement had a crooked extension table, a broken walking foot, and a defective spool pin (the spool FLEW off the machine when threading the bobbin). So I've returned the second w/o asking for another replacement. If this machine works out for you that is great. Just thought I should let prospective buyers know what I experienced.
