Quite possibly, this is the world's best 14.4-volt drill. When you first pick it up, you don't expect much: It's light and amazingly compact. But just wrap your hand around the cushioned, soft-grip, non-slip handle and squeeze the comfortable, rubberized trigger, and you're packing so much torque--390 inch-pounds---that we defy you not to shout "Oh yeah!" First, we love the size. It's so smartly designed and built that you'll be able to work in the tight spots other drills can only dream about. We have no beef with the tough plastic housing, because it definitely contributes to the light weight. The battery design is a stroke of genius because it enables you to insert the battery with the overlap to the front OR the back, so you can tailor the shape of your drill to your workspace. Another nice feature is the ease with which the battery goes on and off---we've struggled more than we care to admit with batteries on other drills. In the power department, you can't beat this tough guy. It maxes at an impressive 1,400 rpm, and none of the vibration ends up in your bones. I like the drill. I would like longer battery life. It seems to die when I need more thime. This package has a second battery.
Great drill for the price:
I've had the drill for several years now and still love it. It has been dropped more times than I can remember and still works. It has great torque and the batteries charge quickly. I liked it so well I bought a second one for my son.
Feels cheap for a Milwaukee:
I was disappointed as soon as I saw the cheap plastic drill chuck and the 1.7 amp hour Ni-Cad batteries. When I read the description they didn't say or it wasn't clear what amp hour the battery was. The drill feels light and cheaply made for a Milwaukee. I own two Milwaukee 14.4 Power plus drills with 2.4 ah batteries and metal chucks and you can tell the difference in quality all the way around and are worth the extra $40 or $50 dollars. He loves it!:
I bought this for my boyfriend who is a sub-contractor and Mr. Fix-It around the house. He loves it! It keeps its charge, it has plenty of attachments, and I also purchased the extra bit set that he uses a lot too.
