Euro-Pro GI-465 Shark Full-Sized Iron

A self-cleaning unit with built-in variable steam, this 1400-watt Shark iron tackles stubborn wrinkles in everyday garments and hanging fabrics. Full-size for efficient coverage, the iron features a polished stainless steel soleplate that glides easily, retains heat well, and resists scratching. Though it can be used dry, it also offers variable steam with a sliding intensity control and a burst of steam function for the most intractable creases. Vertical steam lets you eliminate wrinkles while clothes are on the hanger, and the iron also has a misting spray feature. A clearly marked dial controls the temperature on this model, and the water reservoir is transparent for easy monitoring.

For extra safety, the iron has an anti-drip design to cut water flow when levels are too low to build enough steam. It also automatically shuts off after 6 minutes in any position. This is a very helpful feature, though it is not as speedily triggered as in some comparable models. An anti-calc filter and a self-cleaning setting keep the iron in good condition, while the rubberized grip and swivel cord make operation comfortable. Drips constantly!!!:

I bought this iron to use while I sew. My first project was a satin bridesmaid dress...and this darned iron dripped and stained the fabric. No matter what settings, how much/little water was used, etc--NOTHING kept it from dripping!

Easy Ironer:

This is a lightweight iron and very good steamer. It has been a pleasure to use.

This shark doesn't have enough bite:

I've been disappointed in the Shark Euro-Pro. It doesn't seem to get hot enough to handle the all-cotton heavy work shirts my husband wears. The steam feature does work well in terms of not dripping and I like the turn-off feature, but I have to go over and go over any fabric that doesn't smooth out easily. Sometimes the faceplate sticks to certain kinds of cloth, and the handle is not centrally balanced over the faceplate, so that you're only putting pressure on the middle and back end of the faceplate,... more info

great iron, much le$$ than rowenta:

I have had rowenta irons for years, and every one of them dripped. When the last one fell off the ironing board (of course it died), I started looking for a less expensive iron. This Euro-Pro Shark Full-Sized iron is great. It steams very well, better than rowenta, has a big vertical steam and does not drip! Need a new iron, get this one, why pay more $ for less quality.
