This one ought to come with a seat belt--wait till you feel the power of 500 inch-pounds of torque in this beautifully balanced drill. With a max torque like that, no job is too tough, but combine that with DeWalt's impressive 34,000 blows per minute in hammerdrill mode and a max third-gear speed of 2,000 rpm, and you've got all the power you'll need for drilling into just about anything, from wood to steel and masonry. Nice carbide jaws in the keyless chuck really hang onto the bit. These extended run batteries give you not just a longer runtime, but they last longer than standard batteries. We like the attention DeWalt gave to ergonomics on this drill; any 18-volt is no lightweight, but the balance of this tool and the well-designed pistol grip make it feel lighter than its actual weight. The grip is great, and the auxiliary handle is a cinch to adjust to any angle. This drill is a pleasure to use. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Great Drill:
This has been a great drill for me and has proven itself over a period of 4 years with almost weekly use. I have to drill a lot of holes in all different types of material ranging from wood to metal and have never had a problem with the exception of battery. I am now coming to a hard decision of buying a different drill or buying a different type of battery since everyone is going to lithium-ion batteries. DeWALT has a nano battery able to fit this drill but with no new pistol grip design yet it is hard to... more info
Power to the People:
This is the best all around cordless drill i have ever used. I especially love the handle position, as it is shaped more like a screw gun than a drill. It is designed to be gripped primarily by the index finger and thumb with the ring finger on the trigger. This not only allows you to reach further, but it makes the drill more stable by aligning the screw bit, wrist, and forearm along a single plane. While this drill is not intended for hanging a significant amount of drywall, any professional board hanger... more info
Extremely Powerful Cordless Drill:
This is an extremely powerful cordless drill. Using this is like using a heavy duty drill with a cord. Very great for the money. Highly recommended!!!
Reliable, Dependable, Essential:
A must have for any workshop. The portability of a cordless with the power of a hammer drill. It has the power to tackle MOST jobs - however extremely hard concrete will wear down batteries quickly. It also has a good bit of weight to it, but it is balanced well.
