Do Not Buy From DeLonghi:

I purchased this machine for my daughter in law and thought it would be wonderful for her to have it. It stopped working in short order and they replaced it. That one broke too. My son had to travel from Denver to Colorado Springs to fix it. It worked two weeks and broke again. They will not give a credit and tell us to fix it again. How many times should it be fixed? It cost a lot of money and they have gotten practically no use from this mixer. It is a poor item and should be recalled. Do not buy from... more info

Terrible product, terrible customer support:

My mother bought this mixer on Amazon for my wife and within 6 months it stopped working (a gear that protects the motor broke). I called up Amazon who told me it had been too long and that we needed to deal with DeLonghi. I then took the mixer into a service center about 75 miles away (!). The service center didn't finish fixing it (due to approval, part receiving, etc) until 2 months (!) later. I then picked it up and brought it home only to have the machine break down again after 2 uses!! My wife didn't... more info

Cautionary Tale & it walks!:

Yes, I have owned the Kenwood Rival KM230 for 10 years, which turns out to be the same as the Delonghi 7 qt. Granted that is a good amount of time, but this winter while making a batch of Marshmallows, the balloon whisk sheared apart. Somewhat heartbreaking, as I had to start all over again with the mallows.
I have been trying to replace this part for months. The only place to get this part is in the UK, and with the current exchange rate it will cost $100., including the $$$$ shipping. At that price... more info

Delonghi Mixer is Great:

I have enjoyed the Delonghi 7 qt mixer for several months and have been very pleased with it's performance and utility. To date I have made a lot of bread, cookies and cakes. I shopped stand mixers in detail and have had no reason to regret my decision to buy the DSM7.
