Great grinder!: My Gaggia 7001 finally packed it in after a couple of years of use and I replaced it with the KitchenAid. While the KitchenAid doesn't seem to grind quite as fine (which it might do, but I haven't actually tried to fine-tune the grinding mechanism yet) and while it takes up a bit more space on the counter top, it is MUCH quieter, MUCH faster, and MUCH easier to use! It is also a MUCH sturdier unit. I could not be happier with it! Quality construction, poor design: I paid $150 for this machine because I am tired of buying things that don't last. This machine is built like small appliances built 50 years ago and I'm confident it it will last a long long time. needs adjustment: I've only had this grinder for a few days, but right out of the box, I noticed ( small stuff) the measuring spoon missing and the lid to the hopper was scratched, made me wonder if I got a returned/re-packaged grinder? I bought this mostly for our french press and we also have an espresso machine. On first try, the finest grind was course ( for espresso)...and I actually notched it down one for my french press. I'm thinking I have to make some adjustments already, which means taking it apart...this...
