Convenience is always a factor.:
Pass-thru plug is unnecessary but a great feature. Being able to charge more than one battery at a time let's me daisy-chain through my tools as I need them. I've had charged batteries for each tool I need, as I need them since I got this.
charged and ready:
With 2 port charger I can keep working. 1 in use, 1 in the charger-charged and ready, 1 charging.
Works Great:
The dual port makes it easy to have charged batteries when I need them. With both a handsaw and drill/driver I can use up two batteries in a big hurry. Now I can be charging two batteries while I am using two others. I don't totally understand the Automatic Tune-up Mode, but anything to extend the charge or life of these expense batteries is good.
DeWalt:
The standard in construction ! Double hole charger does it all...re-conditions the cells too...the plug has an outlet on the back of it so you don't lose an outlet opportunity at the job !
