The D*** Pump Failed:
Pump failed after about 1 year. Otherwise it's OK. But I bought it for the pump feature, so one * only as a rating. I have owned several DeLonghi products and they all do what the dehumidifier pump is supposed to do: SUCK. Consumer Reports is right on the mark with its dismal ratings for DeLonghi products.
PM at the end of the season can go along ways in keeping it working:
If instructions are followed, it should last quite a long time. I will be honest, I had to go back and check out what could be wrong when I noticed that my unit was not pumping at the beginning of the second season, so I took a peek inside and discovered that at the end of the earlier season the hose attached to the filter needs to be drained. I did such and it has been working fine for more than 2 years now :0)
Great dehumidifier:
I admit I was reluctant given some of the negative reviews I saw, but my experience was very good. The product arrived on time, set-up took maybe 5 minutes, and it works great. I'm trying to dry out a wet basement and there are two dehumidifiers at work. This one removes much more water than the other -- plus you know where you stand because it shows you the relative humidity in the room vs. what you want it to be.
Lasted a year.:
Lasted one year. Just threw it away in the dumpster. Pump frequently did not work and I constantly emptied by hand. Huge wast of money. Don't purchase.
