Editorial Review:
This 2-qt. cast iron Round Dutch Oven is an excellent choice of cookware for beginning or expert chefs. The cast iron construction has superior heat retention, which makes it easier to cook at very low temperatures for extended periods of time. The tight fitting lids help to seal in moisture allowing for tender meat dishes and flavorful soups and stews. About Le Creuset... My first Le Creuset:
This was my first Le Creuset purchase. I have spent the better part of the past ten years purchasing items for my kitchen but had not yet purchased any Le Creuset. I prefer to wait until I can afford quality items, so had not bought any cheap immitations. I have been immensely satisfied with this purchase...definitely worth the extra expense. A powerful little guy:
I've seen a lot of the TV chefs use enameled cast iron. They are expensive but well worth it. Of course many of those chefs on the Food Network, and Marth Stewart have their own knock-offs. I cheated. I found my small round French while cleaning out my grandmother's apartment. When she was alive, I don't recall seeing her use it. None of my relatives wanted it, so I took it home. It's great for two people or for cooking side dishes. My wife and I make everything from rice, to soup, to pasta, to sauce,... more info
More expensive online:
Not a bad product, but it was more expensive online than in a local store. I paid over $120 and found it in a local store in a variety of colors on sale for only $59. Regular price was $79!
Can't go wrong:
Love it! It is pretty to look at and even prettier to clean. Never have had a problem cleaning it. Cooks fast and evenly. I would love to have one in every size and color (need to win the lottery first). You won't regret this purchase!
