When my 20 year old mixer finally decided to conk out in the middle of mixing a cake, it was time to get something new and modern. I am very impressed with this mixer and its 5 speeds. It's very powerful - cream whipped in a few minutes and egg whites in no time with the whisk attachment and the slower speeds mix cakes and so forth easily. Nice looking Hand Mixer that works great:
I purchased this item because in addition to a whipping beater it also had 2 "regular beaters" with wide blades. I previously had a mixer that only had the narrow whips and they threw whatever I was mixing all over me & the kitchen. The old-fashioned blade beaters work much better for most mixing purposes.
The retractable cord is also a plus. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is difficult to pull out - seems to catch a little. The retraction part works fine and it's really nice not... more info
