Easy to use, makes great ice cream:
I'll leave the details to the reviewers who've covered this product pretty well already. I'll just mention a couple things... The noise is not too loud for us at all. The ice cream seemed a little runny when the machine turned itself off after 33 minutes, but turned out perfect after a little time in the freezer. By the way, we noticed vanilla beans cost $7 apiece at our local grocery store, but less than $1 each when purchased through Amazon and JR Mushrooms & Specialties. The vanilla ice cream... more info
Creamy Dreamy:
This Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker is wonderful. I received it for a gift and love it. One thing we've found is to get truly creamy ice cream a cooked custard base is the best. While the compressor is a bit loud, it's worth every decibel!
Very good ice cream:
Makes very good ice cream -- even good low fat! One suggestion: Make sure you whisk hard -- whisking vigorously makes the ice cream creamier and less grainy -- the sugar dissolves better.
Happy so far:
Solid feel and good finish on this machine. Performs well, and is able to make better sorbets and ice-creams than old-style maker with ice and rock salt. Batch size is reasonable, and can make several batches back-to back just fine. Only real downside is the noise - agin, quiter than our ice-and-rck salt machine, but still quite noisy. Overall, very happy with this machine to date, but might just want to put in closet/garage/bathroom while its running.
