6A, Heavy Duty, Top Handle Jig Saw Kit, 500-3,100 SPM, Tool Free Blade Change & Shoe Bevel, 4 Position Orbital Action, Variable Speed Control, Low Vibration, Large Rubber Gripping Surface, Flush Cut Capable, Dust Blower, 1" Stroke, Includes: Blades & Case.
Gentle curves, sharp turns, circles, ovals or straight cuts, it's all a cinch with this DeWalt. It's got so much power, it can easily take on jobs you'd normally hand to your circular saw, but it's got the finesse you need for cutting curves.
Our pet peeve with jigsaws has always been the complicated, tooled method of changing a blade, but bravo to DeWalt for engineering this tool-free, practically effortless blade changeout system, quality-made completely of metal. The flip of a lever is all it takes, and you're back on the job. It's nice, too, to not have to handle that sizzling hot blade - the saw ejects it for you.
Control is phenomenal, and the saw really does the work for you. The motor powers the blade at 0 to 3,000 strokes per minute, so whether you're cutting 1/8th-inch ply or a 2-by-4, this saw does not disappoint. You can tailor the speed and aggression to suit your cutting needs with a four-position selector that changes the attitude of the blade for different cutting applications. The non-marring shoe bevels to 45 degrees with positive stops, but we found it a tad difficult to determine the exact angle we'd set. A minor quibble, but one worth mentioning.
We particularly like how this saw feels in hand. It's beautifully balanced, and the curved rubber grip feels good to grasp. The shape of the front of the tools lends itself nicely to your free hand for guidance. And while you're cutting, the built-in dust blower really does a great job of keeping your cutting line clear. Carpenters and contractors will love this saw, and the do-it-yourselfer will find a hundred uses for it.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

A great little jigsaw:
A great little saw, and does everthing well and easily. But, like most DeWalt products, it's pricey.
Great Saw:
I've had this product about 9 mos, its a great saw and I would recommend it to any serious woodworker. I especially like the way the blades fit into and out of the saw, good design. Plenty of power to do any job, well made construction.
Almost Perfect Jig Saw:
My previous Dewalt Jig Saw was stolen so I had to get another... this DW331K is the same power as my prior one, but a different design. I loved my last one so was looking for a direct replacement. However, my last one isn't made (that I could find) anymore, so this one's the most direct replacement I could find. It's far easier to replace the blades than my last one, & easier to adjust angles (though the last one used a lever method for loosening/tightening the plate's angle as well). It's also more... more info
Another one with blade retention issues:
I bought a 331 a couple weeks ago and it worked great for awhile until it started spitting blades while cutting laminate flooring. No matter how I re-installed the blade they still came out. I exchanged it for another 331 thinking it was a defective unit and didn't get 1/4 of an inch cut using the new one and it too spit the blade.
I couldn't believe I was so "stupid" that I couldn't install the blades properly so I called Lowes and the local DeWalt repair center and neither had an answer to the... more info
