Poor Battery life:

This is my fourth Makita cordless and I am very disappointed with how long the batteries have lasted. It is about 1 1/2 years old and used 2 or 3 times a week on average. The batteries do not hold a charge as long as they should. My 8 year old 14 volt with the original batteries can outlast this guy. And mine was a specail deal with 3.0 amp batteries.

My husband has bought a few cheaper drills over the years only to have them break, malfunction, or sizzle-out after a short period of time. He wanted this drill for Christmas. I believe that a Makita tool is the best other than the Dewalt tools. I use this product with overall satisfaction. I use it to drill holes in 14 gauge steel plates without burn out. The battery running time is greater than I thought it would be in cordless tools. I inject a charged battery for every four hours of the construction job that I use it for.
