Editorial Review:
The Canteen double wall glasses can be use the whole year round. You can use them for your cold drinks in summer and hot drinks in winter. They are made of a very strong but yet light weight glass (borosilicate glass). They can safely go in the dishwasher and microwave. No coaster needed. Bodum's insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass that weighs less than traditional glassware. Used to make scientific lab glass, borosilicate glass (medical grade glass) is stronger than traditional "soda-lime" glass and can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Some people may perceive the glass to be "thin" as they hold it. It is important to understand the difference between borosilicate and soda lime glass. Borosilicate glass doesn't need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is dishwasher safe and will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 100 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it. Simply treat it as you would any glass product and it will stand up to every day use.Bodum insulated, double wall glass is handmade by expert artisans. Because this glass is mouth-blown, eac
Drawing on modern technology and innovative design, Bodum's Canteen collection puts a new twist on everyday drinkware. The walls of each vessel are hand blown with two layers of clear glass, creating an optical illusion that the liquid is suspended inside. Cut in slightly tapered, clean lines, they have an almost futuristic appeal that emphasizes the relationship of form and function.
This set of two double old fashioned/tumbler glasses serves anything from mai tais to eggnog. Crafted of borosilicate glass, which is also used to make scientific lab equipment, the pair is exceptionally strong, lightweight, and thermal. The two-layer construction also resists heat and prevents condensation, so no matter what temperature the beverage is, the glasses remain comfortable to hold and safe for any tabletop. Winner of the prestigious European IF Design Award, this 7-ounce, scratch-resistant set goes safely into the dishwasher and microwave. Mix and match Canteen with the Pavina and Assam lines to stock the bar or dining table with a variety of fun shapes. --Kara Karll
Editor's Note: Because the glasses are mouth blown, each one may have slight variations in height, thickness, and weight. Bodum recommends using care when placing ice into the glass to avoid fracturing the inner layer. Do not use metal spoons or place the glass into a crowded dishwasher.

Nice, unique design, but watch out:
I saw these in the Starbuck's store while looking for a gift for some friends I was visiting. I bought two sets and gave them to my friends. Within days they had broken all but one. I have some that I have not broken, and I did not see how they broke them, but for some people these glasses seem to be a liability. I also have a large coffee mug, so far so good. I also do not have a dishwasher, so I wonder if the heat from the dishwasher could have something to do with it. I love the glasses they are... more info
Our new preferred cocktail glass!:
Just like the 9 oz. Bodum glasses we bought at Amazon, these have peformed PERFECTLY. After a year, none of our Bodum glasses have broken, and we use them daily. The 9 oz. glasses are used for our morning coffee and are perfect. We freeze Bodum glasses for cocktails, microwave them with water in them for coffee ... they remain easy to hold (even the microwave doesn't make the outer surface hot) and keep beverages cold or hot MUCH longer. I know others have complained about their fragility, but... more info
All but perfect:
Best possible bourbon glass for your first 3 drinks, after that you'll need to put it away or you could break it. It's glass is thin, but it's well worth the risk.
Bodum Canteen Tumbler:
This is a great glass. It's a good size and I love the wide opening. The double glass keeps drinks cold for a long time.
