Editorial Review:
It's always the soft stuff that's the hardest to cut. This knife puts its serrated edge to work, slicing through even the brawniest bread with ease. Ultra-tough VG-1 Japanese steel is elegantly clad with an impressive 33 layers, providing ultimate sharpness and edge retention. Lifetime warranty.
Calphalon's Katana stainless-steel bread knife promises superior workmanship and quality materials with just its name--the word "katana" refers to the celebrated sword carried by Japan's traditional Samurai warriors. Made for efficient and precise slicing, this carefully crafted knife lives up to its noble moniker. The tool features a 9-inch Damascus-style blade fashioned from 33 layers of VG Japanese stainless steel. The result is a surface that is exceptionally strong, resists rust and corrosion, and maintains its sharp edge. The serrated blade cuts through all kinds of bread with very little effort for clean slices every time. Adding comfort and style, the knife has an integrated bolster design, and the durable poly-resin handle in black fits into the hand securely. The bread knife measures approximately 13 inches long and comes with a lifetime warranty. Calphalon recommends washing the knife by hand and drying promptly for best results. --Kara Karll

The knife I've been waiting for!:
Fabulous knife! Slices through all breads without crushing. Heavy enough to feel good in the hand; light enough to be handy for all.
In addition, this stylish knife looks beautiful on a display rack when not in use.
O:
I love this knife, it's much better than my Henckels, which it replaces. And it's beautiful. It's one of the sharpest out-of-the box knives I've ever bought.
not all that:
it looks good. but not as sharp as i expected. don't waste your money. i have the 4 star henckels bread knife and in my opinion is alot sharper. it's also cheaper. good luck.
