Modern stemless design feels natural to hold; small size is perfect for sake or wine tasting
Tumblers fit compactly in the dishwasher
Editorial Review:
From the company who introduced the world to a revolutionary concept in wine glasses, the Vinum Series, comes another great wine revolution: The "O" Series. The designs of Riedel "O" tumblers are based on the benchmark shapes of Riedel Vinum. For the first
One of the hottest new designs in the wine world, the O series from renowned Austrian glassmaker Riedel includes this O For Two tasting set, a beautiful gift for a new couple, anniversary, or favorite oenophile. The set contains two stemless O glasses that each stands 4-1/8 inches high and holds 13-1/4 ounces at full capacity, along with a 6-1/4-inch, 15-3/4-ounce decanter. Known as the Mini-Cabernet, the diamond-shape decanter is taken from Riedel's Vinum Extreme collection, a modern match for the O tumblers. The diminutive size of the tumblers makes them perfect for sake or to sample tiny tastes of beverages.
Riedel's O tumblers neatly sidestep the annoying issue of stem breakage and fit handily into a picnic basket. They also stack compactly on a shelf when the bottom glass is turned upside-down and a second placed upright on top. Machine-made of lead-free glass, the tumblers and decanter slip right into the dishwasher for easy clean-up, although washing by hand is recommended. --Ann Bieri

sake sized:
this is a very nice set for those looking for a sake sized decanter. read the dimensions carefully. it's important to note the "tasting set". it is exactly that. good for flights not full bottles.
i find that this is great for sharing sake amongst friends.
Misleading:
The two wine glasses were for sake, which is not mentioned on the Amazon website. While I will be fine with the glasses, they will not be used for a cabernet. I don't believe this was Riedel's fault, as the packaging is very clear.
A wonderful glass for sake drinking:
I learned about this product from John Gauntner's Sake newsletter. This ia a wonderful set of glasses for nihonshu. This glass was designed to bring out the gentle nuances of sake and has achieved that goal. The glass can hold a significant amount of sake which I prefer to more traditional small o-choko and its size makes swirling easier. The glasses are stemless which allows for easier cleanup in a dishwasher and keeps with Japanese aesthetics. This glass has become my favorite glass for sake tasting and... more info
