Buy it, but use it for more than making risotto.
Long form
This is a wonderful tool. I don't think I've ever used it to make risotto, but I've used it for just about everything else. I got mine from a kitchen supply store after breaking a similar (but lower quality) tool. I have no fear of ever breaking this one. Mine's about two years old and still going... more info

Mario Batali Risotto Paddle:

This is a nice paddle. I use it for more than rissoto. When cooking anything that might stick to bottom of the pot this paddle allows you to easily scrape the bottom ie soups etc.

Mario Batali 13-inch risotto paddle:

This sturdy, well crafted, paddle is perfect for making risotta. The shape allows you to get into the corners and along the bottom to assure that nothing sticks.

This is hands-down, the ultimate stirring equipment. I hope it never breaks, but I bought five just in case.
