Editorial Review:
Beautiful enough for the table and durable enough to outlive its warranty, this heavy, round, 4-1/2-quart soup pot is shaped to circulate ingredients' flavor while they simmer. Soup, stew, beans, or corned beef and cabbage then can be served stylishly. The pot is made of cast iron, which is unexcelled for fast, even heat distribution, while both the exterior and interior are clad in two coats of enamel, which prevents foods from sticking and is impervious to acids and odors. The knob on its heavy, tight-fitting lid is oven-safe to 450 degrees F, and the pot can also be used on any stovetop, including induction. Sturdy loop handles facilitate carrying from the oven or stovetop to the table, and the casserole is dishwasher-safe for quick cleanup. Like all Le Creuset cast-iron products, it's hand cast in a one-of-a-kind sand mold and hand finished at the Le Creuset factory in France. The soup pot measures approximately 10-3/4 by 10-3/4 by 5 inches and carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

My favorite:
I love this soup pot. I use it for so many things besides soup, and really like the rounded shape. What I love most about Le Creuset is that if I am forgetful and accidentally burn the pot, it is so easy to clean and it looks like new again. I purchased this soup pot on sale on Amazon for $99 two years ago. The only complaint I have is that I think I got a "second" because there were a couple of small pits in the enamel lining. But I'm happy because I got a good price and it functions perfectly.
wundabar!:
I love this pot. I also bought the Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 3-1/2-Quart Buffet Casserole, Dune. I love the beautiful color, it's just as described, like sand, and it goes very well with all my vintage pieces of other colors. Just as described I use it to make soup and other things and it's heavy, sturdy, cooks evenly and worth every penny. Le Creu-lovely.
Great pot!:
I love this pot! I made a roast in it and it was awesome. The best thing was that cleanup was an absolute breeze. The one thing I was a little disappointed about was that the top handle can only sustain temps in the oven up to 375 degrees.
bad shape:
I bought this and ended up returning. It has a very small bottom. I would have liked to brown ingredients first and then add rest and bake. It is just a poor design. Doesn't live up to the wonderful quality that le creuset has.
