I bought this for my daughter for Christmas because I love the one I bought for myself a few months ago, and she had admired mine. I use it for soups, stews, roasts, one-dish meals. It has virtually replaced my slow cooker. It browns meats beautifully and you can simmer on the stove top or put it in the oven. It's well worth the price! The only thing I don't like about Le Creuset is the choice of colors. Most of them are much too bright for my taste. When I found it in black on Amazon I ordered it... more info
