Crafted of smooth, corrosion-resistant stainless steel
Swirl beads in water to gently clean hard-to-reach places
Perfect as an add-on gift with glassware and decanters
Editorial Review:
ThisDecanter/Bottle Cleaner from Riedel makes cleaning decanters and thermos flasks easier than ever. The secret is the stainless steel pellets that work to remove all dirt, residue, sediment and stains. Simply fill the vessel half way up with water, add the pellets, and swish it around for about two minutes. When you're done, simply strain, rinse and dry the pellets and they are good to use again and again.
Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most innovative, and Riedel's bottle cleaner beads are a case in point. These small, smooth stainless steel balls submerge in water where they sink to the bottle's hard-to-reach corners and bottom. When the bottle is gently agitated, the balls create fiction against the hard surfaces, knocking off unwanted residue and providing an even, streak-free cleaning. No more risking cutting hands or accidental breaks! These beads work perfectly in narrow-necked bottles, vases, or any irregularly shaped glass piece. When not in use, they store in a handsome and convenient black plastic jar with a screw-off lid and the words "Bottle Cleaner" in crisp, white lettering. This handy item makes a great add-on gift with glassware and decanters. --Kara Karll

Not quite up to the task:
I had hoped that these beads would solve my problem with a badly stained decanter. After several washings, the stain was 75% removed. Perhaps if I had started using the beads earlier before the stain set I would have been more successful. The Amazon price was about half of what other Reidel dealers wanted. The beads store easily in the plastic dish after use.
Small, but effective:
The product description says the beads are small, but they're truly tiny -- the entire set of beads, in the case, will fit inside your espresso cup. I was skeptical that they would succeed in removing an iced tea stain from a recycled green glass bottle. But, as other reviewers say, the beads were up to the task, solving the problem with 5 minutes of on- and off- swirling. I'm very impressed. Unfortunately, I lost probably 5 of the beads in the first use, since they're prone to bouncing and too small... more info
Awesome:
this doesn't just work on wine bottles and decanters. used it to clean a soy sauce bottle and it only took a few seconds of swirling.
great way to clean a small necked decanter:
I purchased this with a riedel lyra decanter which has a very small opening and large bulb which would be very difficult to clean otherwise.
