Ribbed rim allows for easy gripping to carry bowls, even when you hands are wet or greasy. The bowls is deep enough to contain splatters, but the perfect depth for easy mixing.

Not worth the money:
We bought an entire set of Le Creuset stoneware mixing bowls looking to upgrade upon a cheaper set we had used for years. In less than two months of normal use, they have chipped and been marked up by stirring and use of the beater. We've come to the conclusion that we can't use our beater in it - which is one of the key uses of a mixing bowl. It appears that the quality of these products have deteriorated significantly in recent years. We're going to contact Le Creuset and attempt to get our money back.... more info
