good but noisy:
Bought this shredder two weeks ago to use for junk mail. So far it has been great, gobbles up every piece of junk mail that I put in, including credit card offers. However, it is very noisy and makes my baby cry whenever I turn it on:(
Just right:
This shredder fits nicely under a desk, is crosscut, handles all the daily mail and old file projects, and doubles as a regular trashcan. A good buy.
Works well:
I bought one for my home and one for the office...great price. Shredder does exactly what's expected.
Plastic gears are a problem:
This is a great little shredder for the money. I had mine for 8 months before it broke -- truth be told, I was trying to cram way too much stuff in there when it broke. I took off the top and saw that I had sheared off the main gear, which was made of plastic (which makes sense given the price). This would be a real easy fix -- just swap in a new gear -- but in contacting Fellowes, and in doing a number of Interent searches, replacement gears are not available.
