Magnesium gear box for reduced weight and added durability
1/2-inch metal ratcheting chuck with carbide jaws for superior gripping strength
Editorial Review:
The V18 Hammer Drill with its Li-ion battery cuts up to 25 2-9/16 in. selfeed bit holes per charge. High output motor provides 550 in-lbs. of torque. Patented reversible battery allows drill to fit in tight areas and optimizes balance while working overhead. 1/2 in. metal ratcheting chuck with carbide jaws provides superior bit grip. Tool is backwards compatible with existing Milwaukee NiCd 18V Batteries.
The Milwaukee 18-Volt Cordless Li-Ion 1/2-Inch Hammer Drill comes with a convenient storage case and is compatible with long-running 18-volt Li-Ion rechargeable batteries. Milwaukee 18-volt Li-Ion equipped tools provide up to 50-percent longer run times than 18-volt Ni-Cad equipped tools, while at the same time offering "fade-free" power until the battery is completely drained. The hammer drill comes standard with an all-metal, single-sleeve, ratcheting chuck with carbide jaws to prevent bits from falling out or slipping. A comfortable non-slip, soft-grip handle reduces vibration and fatigue, and the drill comes with a side handle for added drilling/driving stability. A high output motor provides 550 in./lbs. of torque, and the tool is backwards compatible with existing Milwaukee Ni-Cad 18-volt batteries. The driver comes backed with a manufacture's 5-year limited warranty. The battery and charger are sold separately.

Milwaukee 08-20 Lithium- Ion 1/2 inch Hammer Drill:
This drill is a typical Milwaukee so far. If the job is easy it punches holes out quickly. Doesn't balk with more difficult jobs either. Anyone who purchases this drill motor will be most likely very happy with a
inexpensive yet terrifically good tool. I would speak more highly but I need to use it more than I already have.
tough, solid and power:
I used this 18v hammer drill tested with 1/4 in. screw , it kept going and
twist screw head off. very powerful drill you can depend on to do the jobs
Milwaukee 0824 Hammer Drill:
Very good performer. More torque than most jobs need. With Lithium cells battery never seems to run out of energy. Love the fact that you can use older ni-cads or newer Lithiums. Also reversable battery position gives you a nice choice for compact vs. balance. A little heavier than my older 12v, but handle helps with that.
Unfading power:
Even with the heat indexes in the 100's, this tool doesn't slow for much and more importantly the battery doesn't fade to nothing overnight as I find with my NiCad cordless tools. First time out of the box, it was used to mount a handrail to an existing decorative concrete structure. After numerous two inch or deeper holes drilled in to a cement/brick/concrete mix, including a few 5/8's diameter ones for lag shields, it hadn't even eaten up a quarter charge on the battery. I love the charge... more info
