Well worth the money!:
I bought this grinder for use with my drip pot, french press and vac pot and I absolutely love it! There is so little dust and inconsistencies in comparison to other burr grinders I've owned. I am now enjoying a cleaner tasting cup! This is by far the best grinder on the market for those uses I listed above! I don't suggest it for espresso (even though it is quite capable of grinding that fine) because you cant super micro adjust it to get the perfect 20-30 shot times. Great grinder!:
This is a fantastic coffee grinder! Even grind, adjustable burr to go beyound the preset choices. Quiet(for a coffee grinder!)and smooth running. Love the glass hopper and bin. The only thing I would change is the shape of the bin that the grinds go into. It's a large bell shape which is akword for my small hands. Otherwise, it's the best I've ever owned!
Underwhelmed:
So utterly disappointing! After reading all the reviews and technical descriptions I settled on the K.A. because of the K.A. reputation and because it's the only burr grinder with a glass catch bowl. I was tired of the static cling inherent with plastic catch containers. Plastic containers also abrade thus exacerbating the cling problem. Nice unit overall....:
Its a solid unit and does a very good job providing an even grind. Its relatively quiet as well. Only negatives are
- Its got a large "footprint" (takes up counter space)
- On occasion the beans get stuck in the feeder mechanism requiring a slight tap.
- The dial does shimmy a little when grinding (which may be a sign of issues to come?) Its certainly not cheap but does a nice job and seems to be of solid construction. We're using in a small office environment.
