It's not normally possible to get the latest technology without paying a premium, but the Hitachi KC18DBL Four-Piece Lithium-Ion Combo Tool Kit is an exception. Here, you get the very latest in cordless tool technology --lithium-ion batteries -- and save a bundle in the process. Buying these four 18-volt tools individually would cost nearly twice as much as the combo kit price.
560 in-lbs of torque allows the Hitachi driver drill to power through the toughest jobs.
Universal charger charges 7.2 volt to 18 volt Hitachi Lithium-Ion batteries as well as NiCd and NiMH batteries of same voltage.
This versatile four-piece kit includes a hammer drill, reciprocating saw, circular saw, and five-position work light. The hammer drill boasts a best-in-class rating of 570 in./lbs. of torque for powering through the toughest jobs, including boring holes in concrete. The heavy-duty circular saw comes with a 6-1/2-inch carbide-tipped blade. The cut-anything/anywhere reciprocating saw features tool- less blade changes and triple-sealed construction for long-term durability. Finally, there's a handy lantern that has two lighting modes: fluorescent and LED.
Also included in the kit are two 3.0-amp-hour, 18-volt lithium-on batteries that offer three times the life at half the weight of standard nicad batteries. And the Universal Battery Charger charges lithium-ion, nicad and nickel-metal hydride batteries ranging from 7.2 to 18 volts. Everything stores in a convenient soft-sided carrying bag.
The kit's three power tools can handle nearly any cutting, drilling, or screw driving job you're likely to encounter, and the work lantern has value far beyond the jobsite. Take it camping, keep it in the car, or use it during a blackout. This four-piece kit would prove invaluable to any professional contractor or serious do-it-yourselfer. -- Joseph Truini

Worth the Money and then some!!!!!:
For the money and waranty(5 YEARS, compared to 1 like most others) you cant ask for more....I shopped at lowes and was just looking for a quality drill and it started with just looking for a basic 18v drill, the lowes guy sold me on the 18v hitachi there, and it was 189.99. so i started looking at the combo kits there and saw that they had one for 299.99 so i thought for another 110 bux i can get a circular saw and sawzall and light. what a steal and i get the same drill. so i didnt buy it that nite, i came... more info
Great Kit!:
I've had the kit for a year now and not a single problem. I have used the drill extensively, the saws occasionally, and the light has been very handy when working under the hood of my car. I can run the tools for a VERY long time between charges and the charger replenishes the batteries quickly. Probably my biggest draw to Hitachi tools is the comfort. They are all so well balanced and comfortable to hold. For a long time, I was partial to Dewalt, which has its own merits, but the Hitachi is easier on... more info
Excellent Tools:
Overall I am extremely satisfied with the quality and performance of these tools. As a bundle, I think this is a fantastic kit of tools. I wanted to give this a great review out of the box, but I forced myself to try each tool first. They confirmed my expectations and are high quality and very well powered. I'm going to have these tools a long long time. Hitachi uses a liberal amount of soft touch rubber in their tools. It's not too soft or compliant, but on all tools I'm able to shift hand position... more info
Excellent Kit!:
I have been in the market for a new combo kit for sometime and interested in upgrading to lithium ion. I have owned a Craftsman kit and decided to upgrade after seeing the introduction of the Lithium Ion kits recently. After doing some research on different kits from Craftsman, Makita, Ridgid, DeWalt and others I settled on the Hitachi because of several features.
