Good player till it broke 3 months later:
I like this cd player except after 3 months the cd player broke. I now have to pay $29.99 plus the costs to ship it to Texas to have it repaired. It broke a couple days after the 3 month warranty so I'm being hit with the repair charge. I have a Panasonic portable cd player that still works and is 13 years old. This is a real bummer. Fantastic for Audio Books:
This CD player starts from where the user hits stop, so it's perfect for listening to audio books without burning through batteries on pause. I purchased it for my mostly blind mother, who can use the controls and appreciates not starting over on every disc. She doesn't use the included ear buds and neither would I, but this machine is a great improvement over the cheapies we bought before.

Beware nanny volume protector:
I bought this Sony Walkman for plane travel, heaven help me. You can't even get an enjoyable volume out of the thing in an empty hotel room. I smell a lawsuit in this somewhere, since this is a new problem with Sony for me. All over the instructions, and I mean all over, are constant warnings that loud noise can cause hearing damage.
