Editorial Review:
Fondue, long part of dining tradition as much as entertaining fare, makes an elegant appearance in this Le Creuset Traditional Fondue set. The enamel coating inside ensures that the pot will not absorb odors or flavors while cast iron construction helps in retaining heat so you can dip over and over and not have to reheat. Plus, it's dishwasher safe. Includes a black enamel burner and stand, 6 stainless fondue forks with different colored ends, and a cast iron, enamel coated fondue pot. Cooks and heats on a stovetop equally well.About Le Creuset...Since 1925, artisans have been crafting Le Creuset cookware in the French village of Fresnoy Le Grand. Each piece of Le Creuset cast iron cookware is handcast, polished, double enamel-coated and then fired, resulting in some of the finest quality cookware available. Cast iron is one of the best materials for distributing heat gently and thoroughly and is ideal for induction ranges. The strong enamel coating will not absorb odors or flavors, and is easy to clean. Heavy lids securely seal in moisture and flavor. Le Creuset cookware comes in a variety of sizes, colors and styles to match any kitchen and cooking preference. So lasting, you'll pass it on to the next generation of promising cooks.
Fondue is one of those dinners that actively engages all ages and usually ends in laughter, as dueling forks often ensue and hunks of bread fall off into the melted cheese. The fondue set from Le Creuset is one of the most sturdy and attractive ones you'll find. Made of enameled cast iron, the black stand and colorful pot are extremely durable and resist chipping, cracking, staining, and odor absorption. Start by placing the pot on any gas, electric, induction, or ceramic stovetop burner to melt the cheese or chocolate (hot broth makes a good dip for slices of meat or fish). Then place the pot on the stand, where it will retain its heat admirably, especially when the burner underneath is lit. The set includes six stainless steel forks, each featuring a different colored end for instant recognition.
Le Creuset is known for suffusing the exterior of its products with bright, modern colors, while keeping a more neutral tone on the interior. The enamel is so smooth that food particles tend not to stick, making cleaning by hand or in the dishwasher a snap. The fondue pot is also safe for oven and broiler use. Enjoy choosing coordinating colors for your Le Creuset baking pans, pie dishes, French ovens, and more. Le Creuset is so confident of its workmanship that it warrantees this product for your lifetime, whether you bought it for yourself or received it as a gift. --Ann Bieri

Finally a fondue pot that works:
We have had a couple of others before purchasing the Le Creuset. They are OK for oil cooking but not for cheese or deserts. This one is great. The cheese did not burn or the chocolate. Easy clean up as well. Spend the money the first time on this product.
Good product.:
This is an attractive well made product as all Le Creuset products seem to be. It is heavy and the pot fits snuggly in its base which is a plus to prevent tipping. I can see using this fondue pot for many years to come. I like that I can start the fondue on the stove and transfer it to the base to keep warm. I would like it better if the flame would adjust a bit lower but it may be that I haven't quite figured it out yet. I also like that this product doesn't have a plug which gives me more options as... more info
LeGreat!:
To some the price might seem a little high, but if you are looking for a top quality fondue pot this is the one to buy. The pot itself is heavy and holds and distributes heat very well. I've used many other fondue pots with less than perfect results. We make a lot of cheese and chocolate fondue and I have never burned either with this pot, even when the fondue has had a flame on it for a couple of hours. The base is very sturdy and I have no fear of the pot falling off it even when the kids are... more info
Best fondue pot I've used:
I used 6 different styles of fondue pot. This one is definately the best. Because it's made of cast iron, scorching is minimized. Chocolates and cheeses melt wonderfuly. Controlling the heat works better than others I've used. When I get around to buying a second fondue pot, it will be this one.
