Thanks to evenly distributed levels of microwave energy, foods will no longer undercook in the center and have hard, overcooked edges. Panasonic has perfected their Inverter Turbo Defrost process, which allows you to defrost foods even faster. Inverter Turbo Defrost technology is an advanced microwave process using the Inverter low-power delivery feature. It distributes microwave energy with the most appropriate combination of regularity and irregularity. Panasonic One Year Warranty

so far, so good:
the turn dial is a great change of pace. food cooks evenly. nice design. it does operate louder than the model it replaces (a 10 year old Sharp Carousel), and the viewing angle around the display is very severe. Meaning, if you place the unit on a counter top (below eye level; and will be looking down at the unit), the top of the display will be cut off by the top of the surrounding panel. doesn't sound like much, but it does get annoying. other than that, it does the job.

I'll agree with most of what the previous reviewers have noted. It's a powerful machine that heats foods very evenly. It looks good, and it's a decent size on the inside without taking up too much counter (or under-cabinet) space. I think the drawbacks are 1) the display (I'm 5'10" and the microwave is on the counter - I can't read it at all without ducking down to counter height) and 2) the time increments -- you can only set times in increments of ten seconds. This is probably fine for many things, but... more info
Mine died too!! Almost caught fire...:
As with other reviewers we had our for about a year and a half... then it started buzzing loudly and what looked like a bolt of electricity flashing inside - scared us, thought it would catch fire. Now there's a hole in the cover where the magnatron is - not safe time to buy a new one... bottom line avoid Panasonic!
Too powerful!:
What we noticed right out of the box was that this oven requires that you cook at less time than any suggested recipe. Once, (following times indicated on a small box of Stouffer's lasagna) I ended up with a food dish that more resembled a roofing shingle. I'm not sure I really like the knob timer setting either. There's no precise timer setting. After 1-10 it jumps all increments by 5 seconds. Aside from the above complaints, the oven does function as expected. The turntable moves freely and food... more info
