Excellent table saw:
I purchased this table saw about four months ago, and I have found it to be absolutely outstanding in every way. Delivery was fast and free, and set-up was simple, straightforward and well-documented. The saw was ALMOST totally square, true and ready to go out of the box (I had only to make a simple adjustment to the splitter, which was not properly aligned with the blade). The fence is solid and stable during use, but very easy to adjust. The blade guard, pawls and splitter are easy to install and remove... more info
First class saw:
I had settled on either a Jet JWTS-10 or the Ridgid TS3650, but my concern was my workshop is only 10'x16'. When I went and looked at the Jet at Woodcraft, it became clear that both these stationary table saws (even with a moveable base) were too big (5' wide) for my space.
Based on the specs, reviews, video on YouTube, and Bosch's reputation I decided on the Bosch 4100 with the gravity rise stand. This is a first class, well engineered, well built saw. All the critical adjustments (blade vertical,... more info
Satisfied:
My last table saw I bought in the early 70's. A friend purchased his Bosch 4100 and I tried it out and was amazed at its features. Because I'm older it was getting harder to lift and move the old saw, so the "stand-on-wheels" was one feature I really needed. I've been using the new saw everyday after I get home from work for the last three weeks and have built a ash dresser and pine kitchen isle. The magnified ruler on the saw is very accurate and easy to use -- don't need to re-check with the folding... more info
Great saw....But:
But you see the way the gravity base projects off the left side about 12" at foot hieght...Thats a great foot tripper, hose and cord grabber. Forget about left side walk by feeding close to the table...a very common practice. Sure that projection helps with stability...but its in the way. What about dust collection? No Problem on a rough frame job site; but do a high end remodel where compact size and fine dust containment is essential and the crew hooking cords, huffin dust and shop-vac'n nooks and... more info
