The filter I bought from Amazon for my Whirlpool refrigerator is exactly the same as the one I purchase for more money at my appliance store.

This product represents great value for money and is etremely easy to install.
The manufacturer recommends changing every 6 months, but I'm sure it's 'water quality' dependent as my filters last at least 12 months (Fort Collins, CO has great water quality).

This filter fits perfectly (even though it says Whirlpool) and works great. Ice and water taste so much better than the water straight out of the tap.
